Games of Cho Chikun against Cho Sonjin
Cho Sonjin was born in Korea in 1970, moved to Japan in 1982 and became professional in 1984. In 1999 he became the Honinbo challenger and unexpectedly won the match, thus ending a ten year reign of Cho Chikun in the Honinbo title matches.
The next year he lost the Honinbo title to O Meien. He has been the challenger for a number of other major titles, but has not yet succeeded again in winning one.
He won the Agon-Kiriyama Cup twice (2000, 2001).
