Chp. 168 Kuwabara is talking to another older pro, saying how the man played well and beat him. The opponent makes a crack about his age and Kuwabara says he's saving everything for next Month's Honinbo finals. As they are talking we hear someone from outside yell "What?!! Touya sensei did?!!" We discover that Touya Kouyo has filed the paperwork to enter a Korean amatuer tournament inorder to gain a spot in the Sansei Kasai cup which seems to be a major tournament that is open to amatuers too. The sponsers of that tournament have said they have a spot already reserved for Touya if this is true. Kuwabara and the others talk about how they can't understand what he's up to and Kuwa places a stone on the tengen(middle) and says that it's as if Touya is watching everything from the middle. As they are getting ready to leave, Ogata walks in to state that he just beat Zama to gain the right to challenge Kuwabara for the Honinbo(again). Kuwa reminds him of the last time and says this will be fun. Ogata looks down on him and says something like "You better be ready, geezer" We go back to the Touya go salon where Hikaru is back playing Akira. Akira expresses reservations on a move Hikaru made and Hikaru says that's why Akira fell out of the Honinbo league. Kitajima-san, one of the locals, starts yelling at Hikaru for being disrespectful but another local tells him to calm down. He says that the two are good rivals and that's a good thing. That he enjoys go so much because he has a good opponent like Kitajima-san to play against. Hikaru hears this and says "Then... The God of Go must be lonely. Since he has no opponent close to him." The others start talking about maybe that's why God taught people go, so that one day someone would become strong enough to face him. Akira chimes in saying that a plan like that would probably take a million years. Kitajima asks if he's part of this million year plan and Hikaru adds "Nah, no way". Kita starts yelling again before Ichikawa tells then to stop fighting and Hikaru and AKira resume playing. We then see Akira waking up in the middle of the night, he decides to go get a glass of water. (sorry gals, Akira doesn't sleep naked....) He notices the light on in his dad's room and goes to see what's up. He sees his dad staring at the board. There's one black stone placed and Akira wonders if his dad is recreating an old game but he sees that the white stones are on the otherside, with the top off. You'd have both stone cups with you if you were recreating a game. As he stares at his dad he wonders who's hand he is waiting for.
